2011 Season and First Project Announced!

DATE: Friday, January 21
TIME: 12 - 2 PM
LOCATION: World Financial Center Courtyard, across from Starbucks

Shoo away winter’s chill with a warm scarf and a variety of choices! World Financial Center In The Loop kicks off 2011 with your choice of one from four projects: a beginner and an intermediate scarf pattern for knitters and crocheters each. In January and February, we’ll be creating scarves for the Orphan Foundation of America’s Red Scarf Project, which sends completed scarves to OFA students enrolled in colleges and trade schools across America.

Patterns / Materials
Please bring your own needles.

Directional Colors Scarf (beginner knit): 5.5mm needle + markers

Paula’s Scarfette, pictured (intermediate knit): 5mm needle + cable needle

Flights of Fancy Scarf (crochet): J hook

Queen Anne’s Lace Scarf (intermediate crochet): J hook

Scarves will be donated to the Orphan Foundation of America: http://www.orphan.org/

SEPTEMBER PROJECT: STUFFIES!

We're continuing with our set of projects for kids at Ronald McDonald House, fingerless mitts and stuffies, cute stuffed dolls for young boys and girls in need of comfort.

You’ll need to bring the following tools and supplies to the September 17 meeting:

Tools
US 10 ½ double pointed needles or two circular needles
Yarn needle

Supplies
Polyfill stuffing
Scrap yarn for eyes

Please bring finished Maine Morning Mitts and Stuffies to the October 15 event! We will be sending the box to Ronald McDonald House on Monday, October 17.

SKIPPING ALONG TO A NEW SPRING PROJECT!

It's spring but not so springy so we're going to make wooly fingerless mitts for kids at Ronald McDonald House. Bring 6" double pointed #7 bamboo needles (set of five) or purchase a set from Ina for $5 (personal checks only). As always, we've got the yarn!
